Astalift Jelly Aquarysta Review

Everyone who is anyone has been talking about Astalift from Fujifilm. Astalift is the number one premium skincare product in Japan, and is fast becoming a cult product in the UK.

Since being massively lucky enough to attend a press release dinner where I learned all about Astalift and got to try out some of the products, the Jelly Aquarysta was and is my stand out product, with the Whitening Cream coming in a close second.

This jelly can be used alongside your usual skincare routine, in between your serum and your moisturiser. It works because of tiny micro particles that can penetrate quicker and deeper into the skin to deliver the active ingredients deep into the skin cells. These then work to target visible signs of premature ageing: dark spots, lines and dull skin, delivering visibly younger, more luminous and ‘replumped’ skin.

Astalift contains marine alga rich in Astaxanthin – a powerful natural antioxidant and three specific types of collagen to improve skin’s moisture levels, firmness and elasticity. Ceramides within in it restore the skin’s natural barrier while emollients provide optimal hydration. The Collagens and hydrolyzed lupin peptides help stimulate the production of elastin fibers to make the skin firmer and smoother.

The jelly is bright clear orange in colour, and looks just like someone filled your pot with orange flavoured homemade jelly. One of the coolest things about it (I think) is that it completely regains it shape every time it is used. I don’t know why but this pleases me immensely and makes me happy every time I look in the pot and see a pristine surface. It comes with a little scoopy-spoony spatula to scoop out the product, which I dismissed at first but soon realised is actually very useful. When this product was named a jelly they really weren’t kidding, it has the exact consistency of kid’s party jelly, meaning if you attempt to use your fingers it just tends to slip through, separate in to tiny globules and goes everywhere!

Once you have managed to get enough of the product between your hands you simply smooth it all over your face, taking your time to massage it in. Don’t worry, it doesn’t turn your face orange, it sinks in virtually straight away, leaving an instant luminosity to your skin. Over the time this luminosity becomes more and more noticeable and last longer each day. It doesn’t make your skin greasy or look shiny, it simply makes it look a lot more youthful and clear, actually reducing the look of old acne scar tissue.

I also love the smell of this product, because it contains rose water it smells just like the old rose scented Turkish Delight I used to love eating as a child. Once the jelly is applied to the skin the smell is in no way over-powering, in fact it just leaves the slightest hint of rose to the skin, which reminds of some of my favourite rose scented perfumes.

It does feels as though a little tightening happens when you apply this but, as someone who isn’t too keen on that sensation, I can say it isn’t bad enough to put me off. It more feels like you can really feel this working in to the skin, rather than actively tightening it.

I really really like this product, since i’ve been using this my skin has seemed a lot more luminous and clearer too. I don’t really need a product yet that reduces fine lines or wrinkles (although it probably won’t be too long) so I can’t say whether this actually does help with that or not, but what it does for my skin I am impressed with, and I would definitely recommend it.

This is certainly towards the higher end of skin care ranges, with 15 grams of Jelly Aquarysta costing £21, but it is certainly not ridiculous in price. You can buy this at Debenhams or Selfridges.

If you want to see my other post on more of the Astalift range you can see it by clicking here.

PLEASE NOTE: I can categorically say that this has not broken me out, and my sensitive skin has had no bad reaction to this, but of course this doesn’t mean that your skin will react in same way, I am no skincare expert, I just love using beauty products! x

  1. i used jelly Astalift Jelly Aquarysta, whitening essence and whitening cream for fine lines (I’m 27), and they did absolutely NOTHING, the smile lines are still there my skin looks worse, such a rip off man i wish i could get a refund.

  2. I would hope at 27 you don t need anything at all for lines or wrinkling … I m 53 this year and up to now have just used facecreams to moisture … hopefully this jelly will help regain some of the youthfullness !
